Ginger Coturnix Collection

Ginger is one of the most striking and sought-after colour mutations in Coturnix quail, producing warm, vibrant plumage that ranges from soft Fawn Ginger through to rich, deep amber and red tones. A favourite among hobby breeders for both their beauty and their genetics.

At South East Game Birds, we offer a carefully selected range of Ginger varieties, including:

  • Ginger Pharaoh — the classic wild-type patterning expressed through a warm ginger lens
  • Fawn Ginger — a lighter, softer expression with delicate cream and golden tones
  • EB (Extended Brown) Ginger — a deeper, richer colouration with a bold, uniform finish
  • Sparkly — a visually stunning variety with iridescent feather patterning

Understanding Ginger Genetics

Ginger is a sex-linked recessive mutation. Males must be homozygous and females hemizygous to breed true to colour — making selective pairing essential for consistent results. This makes Ginger an exciting and rewarding variety for breeders looking to develop their flock.

All eggs are collected from healthy, well-managed breeding coveys and dispatched with care to give you the best possible hatch rates.
