Ginger are a popular and attractive variety of Coturnix Quail, diluting the colour to vibrant, warm-toned plumage, ranging from lighter Fawn Ginger to deeper red tones.

Varieties available at South East Game Birds include; Ginger Pharaoh, Fawn Ginger, EB (Extended Brown) Ginger and Sparkly. 

Ginger is known as a sex-linked recessive, meaning Males that are Homozygous and Females that are Hemizygous for this mutation will breed true to their colour.
