About South East Game Birds

Welcome to South East Game Birds – a specialist quail breeding operation nestled in the small countryside town of Oxted, just south of London. We are passionate about producing healthy, high-quality Coturnix quail and hatching eggs for keepers, breeders, and smallholders across the UK.

Our Story

South East Game Birds was founded out of a genuine love for quail and a desire to make quality breeding stock more accessible to UK enthusiasts. What began as a small backyard flock quickly grew into a dedicated breeding programme as demand for our birds and eggs increased. Today, we maintain carefully managed breeding groups across a wide range of Coturnix varieties, with a focus on genetic diversity, bird health, and consistent hatchability.

Our Breeding Operation

Our birds are kept in clean, well-managed conditions with access to high-quality feed and fresh water at all times. We take biosecurity seriously and follow best practice guidelines to ensure the health and welfare of every bird in our care.

All eggs are collected fresh daily, carefully candled, and packed to order – so you can be confident that every egg you receive has been handled with care from the moment it was laid.

Our Quail Varieties

We specialise in Coturnix (Japanese) quail and offer an impressive range of colour varieties, including:

• Pearl Fee – a striking dilute variety with beautiful feather patterning
• Falb Fee – A popular and elegant grey-toned Fee variant
• Pharaoh – the classic wild-type Coturnix, hardy and prolific
• Ginger – a warm, richly coloured variety popular with collectors
• German Pansy - Renown for their attractive scalloping plumage that includes; Pansy, Pansy Fee and our new Red Pansy line 
• Fawn Sparkly - A stunning colour variety created by combining the Fawn base with the Sparkly gene 
• Black - A striking rare and highly sought after colour mutation, prized for their deep, lustrous plumage. 
• Jumbo English White – a large, fast-growing white variety ideal for meat production
• Celadon - Homozygous for the celadon gene, produces a delightful Bluish/Green egg, which is a real eye catcher 
• Mixed Varieties – a great introduction to the diversity of Coturnix genetics
